Beach House Pevensey Bay

The Beach House, Pevensey Bay: Sustainable Coastal Living

This contemporary eco-home sits directly on the shingle beach at Pevensey Bay, designed to withstand coastal weather while blending with the landscape. Nestled between two bungalows, the long, narrow site presented unique challenges, including restrictive planning requirements and proximity to the shoreline.

The home maximizes sea views with floor-to-ceiling glazing, curved walls, and a stunning spiral staircase that serves as the house’s central light source. Natural light filters through the structure, enhanced by custom stained glass art. The spiral design extends outdoors, where low-key landscaping flows into seating areas and paths, mirroring the waves of the sea.

This project combines modern coastal architecture with sustainability, creating a harmonious connection between land, sea, and home.
